Executive Chef Phil Kiener
Phil Kiener joined the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) family in 2008 with more than 13 years of experience working in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Kiener started working in the industry when he was in high school, as a dishwasher for a local diner. He then became a line cook at an Italian restaurant where he worked for two years before gaining experience for three years at a steakhouse. Kiener began his CMR career as a line cook at Martini Modern Italian before joining the Mitchell’s Ocean Club team, as a line cook, sous chef and currently serves as the executive chef at Mitchell’s Ocean Club.
His advice for those who are interested in the restaurant and hospitality industry is to strengthen their work ethic and, “Be willing to do any job, no matter how small or unimportant you think it is - and do it to your full potential. Everyone can learn knife skills and recipes, but your attitude is what can help you rise to the top.”
Making guest experiences truly memorable is what Kiener loves most about working for CMR and his favorite dish at Mitchell’s Ocean Club is the Surf N Turf appetizer.
Kiener holds an Associate’s degree in hospitality management from Columbus State Community College and is a member of the American Culinary Federation.
He resides in Columbus, Ohio, and when he’s not working, Kiener’s hobbies include biking and exploring the Columbus food scene. He also enjoys experimenting with different woods and cuts of meat for barbecuing.
General Manager Jeff Shupe
A member of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants family for more than 15 years, Jeff Shupe has worked every position at Mitchell’s Ocean Club, giving him a unique management perspective.
Originally from New Albany, Ohio, Shupe attended Ohio State University. It was during his time in college that he was first introduced to the restaurant business and from there it grew into a lifelong passion.
In his free time, Shupe enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with his son.
Sales & Event Manager Jillyan Will
Jillyan has been in guest service-related roles since her first job as a teenager in a local grocery store. She worked for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants from 2001-2005 and returned as the Sales and Events Manager for Mitchell's Ocean Club at the beginning of 2018. She continuously strives to maintain excellent guest relations and is committed to helping make memorable guest experiences.
