During 2008 financial crisis when I couldn't get a job. Started in the kitchen 

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime? 
My fellow associates  What makes working here better than anywhere else? Kitchen produces top notch food it makes my job easy!

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic is over? 
Improv. I work at the Improv Asylum and I can't wait to get back in front of hundreds of people to make them laugh and cough on me.

 No mask, sitting at a bar, hitting up the club.

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime? 
In the 10 years I've worked in a restaurant I've never been so close to a FOH STAFF. It's such a family atmosphere and I love that you can apply that to my service. 

What makes working here better than anywhere else? 
The management, I've had some bad experiences

It's not something you have it's something you learn, comes from the heart and doing the right thing.

When I was 18, I did it as a job and fell in love with it, I could be myself.

Culture What makes working here better than anywhere else? We really do put associates first.

What does hospitality mean to you?
I love this question because hospitality has different meanings for different people. To me, hospitality is creating an environment for every one of our guests to feel special. They could be joining us for a special occasion or a night out on the town. We provide that environment. Going above and beyond for every guest every night is the perfect example of great hospitality. They will always remember how you make them feel. Delivering genuine hospitality is something I'm very proud of.

Jackson has always loved talking to people and felt confident doing so. He thought the industry would be perfect for him.

Ashlee has always been in the industry and loves taking care of people. She is taking her passion for helping people a step further and going to nursing school. 

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime?
Love that it feels like one big family. The management team and associates genuinely care about everyone.

Celebrating with your friends and family and not having to worry about anything 

When did you know that the hospitality field was right for you?
Phil started working for DaVinci's in Columbus as a dishwasher and quickly realized he loved the hustle and bustle of the industry. 

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime?
CMR always does the right thing and it's given him an opportunity to move to new cities 

What is your favorite local restaurant?
Tavernetta 

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic is over?
Live action events- music, sporting events, etc.

I love helping and talking to people

Meeting the guests and seeing them continue to come back 

What is your favorite local restaurant?
Chipotle (Originally from Denver)

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic is over?
Seeing the restaurant at 100% capacity. I started with Ocean Prime during the pandemic, so I've only been able to see the restaurant at a 50% max capacity.

When did you know that the hospitality field was right for you?
My parents worked in the industry, so it's always been a part of my life. I was the kid at 5 years old who learned how to roll silverware. It's always been in my blood. 

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime?
The team is amazing, and the culture is actually in action, not just talked about. 

What is your favorite local restaurant?
Doug's Diner 

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic is over?
Seeing my friends and family

Listening and acting from the heart 

When did you know that the hospitality field was right for you?
Living in Breckenridge I bartended and was able to build relationships with guests and help my guests plan their vacations. They would stop in the next day and thank me for the recommendations and I realized how much joy it brought. 

What do you love most about working at Ocean Prime?
The family feel of the company as a whole 

What is your favorite local restaurant?
"Wow I need to take my wife out on more dates" or Tavernetta 

What are you most looking forward to after the pandemic is over?
Not wearing a mask and not having to make a reservation to go snow boarding

Sous Chef Ingeol Cho began working as a sushi cook at MOC in early 2020. He was worried that he would not be welcomed or respected because of his thick Korean accent, and his English not being very good, according to him. He immediately realized that was not the case. He was welcomed quickly and worked his way to Sous Chef during a global pandemic. Ingeol loves the close-knit atmosphere at MOC and is very pleased with his decision to start working here last year.

Fatimata Diallo

Fatimata Diallo "Mommy" moved to the US from Senegal, Africa in 2000. She started working at MOC in 2001 when we were open for lunch as a busser and cleaner. After we switched to dinner only service, Mommy stayed on as our AM cleaner and silverware polisher on weekends. In 2014, she became as US citizen. One of the greatest things is when previous associates come into MOC and are either working in another CMR restaurant or have moved on in general.

Mike Gilbert

Executive Chef Mike Gilbert began working at CMR as a pantry cook at M in 2010. He was there for 2 years before promoting to Sous Chef at Cameron's American Bistro. He then opened the Guild House and transferred Cap City Dublin as their Executive Sous Chef. Regional Chef Ian Rough asked Mike to become the Executive Chef at Mitchell's Ocean Club in the middle of a Saturday shift. Mike quickly gathered his things and said his Good-Byes. He opened MOC that evening and has never looked back. He has really enjoyed working at so many different concepts in town over the past decade because almost any CMR location he chooses to eat at, he knows associates. It is like an extended family.

Carlos Reyes Mendiola

Carlos Reyes Mendiola has worked at MOC for 6 years. He is an AM prep cook and general utilities associate. He prepares various items for dinner service, including cracking crab legs, slicing cheese, portioning seafood, and so on as needed. When not working, Carlos enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid video gamer! He thoroughly enjoys working with Chef Mike and says Mike is an amazing person who is always available any time Carlos or other associates need anything.

What I love most about working at Ocean Prime is the culture. Our drive to deliver genuine hospitality, make raving fans, always put associates first, and our daily pit stops are a few of the incredible things Ocean Prime offers as a work place. One of my favorite recent Raving Fan moments, was a night when I had a family of five come in – 2 little kids and 1 teenage daughter. The little ones were crying and the older girl was miserable, you could just tell. I know the parents had to be tired and stressed. I wanted to help them enjoy their evening so I brought the kids over some crayons and coloring paper to entertain them, they immediately stopped crying. I then brought the parents some champagne and a virgin Berries & Bubbles for the teenager. Within 10 minutes the whole family went from miserable and stressed to relaxed and happy. At the end of the night, the parents thanked me and said this was their new favorite place to come when they are in town. I love working for a company that gives me the ability to completely turn around someone’s day. Ocean Prime has shown me what genuine hospitality really is!

In response to why I love working for Ocean Prime, I think I could narrow it down to one word, comfortability. The people that I get to work with make it fun to come into the restaurant. Being comfortable to be myself at work has always been important. Also, through the past two years, being comfortable with how transparent the company is with its associates. Through Covid, being able to talk about what we were doing, i.e., opening new stores, sales growth, etc. gives great security and optimism for working and growing upwards and in the future with the company.

I have been working at Ocean Prime for 5 years and it continues to be the best place I have worked. I started in Pantry with no experience and in the short time I have been here, the team has helped me to grow into a Heart of House Supervisor. The opportunity that this restaurant provided me has changed my life forever. I am grateful to be part of this team and am excited to see what my future holds with this amazing company!

My journey began when I was given an opportunity to become an apprentice at thirteen years old for Ocean Prime Tampa. I was told by the Executive Chef at the time that I would know after one dinner shift if this was something I would continue to be interested in pursuing. Well, after working over a year part-time and gaining experience in the heart of house operations, I decided to continue my education at Johnson and Wales University and achieved a Culinary Arts degree. From there, I moved back to Florida to attend UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality and obtained my Hospitality Management degree. Now after five years of working at Ocean Prime Orlando, I have been cross-trained in every front of house position from Server Assistant to Bartender. I will forever be grateful for that change the Executive Chef gave me, following with other opportunities this company has provided me with throughout the years. I hope to one day become a leader in this organization and continue to proudly showcase our motto of “Yes is the Answer, What is the Question?”

I got into the culinary and hospitality field because I love being able to make people happy and evoke emotion with food. Ocean Prime has provided the experience and tools I needed to make this passion into a career. Being able to spend my evenings seeing people love the food that I get to provide keeps me driven to continue to grow and to hopefully become a Chef with this company one day. After 11 years with CMR, I still am able to come to work each day and be pushed to be better by my Ocean Prime family.

Growing up as an extroverted people person, I knew I was destined for the hospitality industry. Working at Ocean Prime has taught me a lot about myself as well as how to build relationships with people. Dylan McMahon is one of our Food Runners that was promoted within and started as a Server Assistant. Dylan is very Familiar with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants for his Father Tony McMahon, our General Manager has been with the company for 20+ years. His favorite thing about Ocean Prime is how Associates come first. He has a passion for making sure Guests have a wonderful experience. His favorite Entree is our Sea Scallops with Jalapeno Au Gratins on the side.

Promoted from within: Started as a Server Assistant, moved to be a Food Runner now is one of our BEST Servers we have. Dakota is a wonderful associate and shows true gratitude and respect for being promoted within. He is constantly striving to gain as much knowledge as possible to ensure our Guests have a Red Carpet experience every time! Be sure to say Hello to Dakota next time you are in! She has been with Ocean Prime for over Two Years now. She is one of our true Team Players when it comes to the best interest of Ocean Prime. You can find her Serving, Cocktailing and Bartending - she truly does it all. She came to us from other fine dining restaurant groups in the valley and after joining Cameron Mitchell Restaurants She hopes to be with us for a long time! Our Family Style atmosphere is truly a rare find in this industry. Her favorite Ocean Prime items are the 16oz Ribeye and Tequilla Cocktail.

What do you love about working at Ocean Prime?
I love everything. From the food we serve to the diversity of our environment, everything we do is top caliber. There is nothing we won't do to take care of our guests, and there isn't anything this company wouldn't do for its associates. We get things done.

What makes working here better than anywhere else?
There is a genuine care that the Ocean Prime and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants team has for me. For all of us. From the moment we walk in to when we leave, I know the Tampa team has my back, and I have theirs.

What Have they accomplished as a part of Ocean Prime?
My brother and I have been working in OP for three years now and after about 6 months working in the Naples Location I was able to earn my way to a supervisor position. I wanted to transfer to Tampa and he wanted to become a Sous Chef in Naples and we were both able to accomplish our goals!

What makes working at OP better than working anywhere else?
Because here we treat each other like family, and we are looking to grow each day to be better than we were the day before. We work hard but we help each other and laugh through it all

When did you know that hospitality was right for you?
I like to work hard and the smile I see on the faces of people who taste our food was enough for me to decide this is where I want to work.
